The Skyblade sail is an extension of Loftsails' racing program, developed to maximize the performance of low-drag hydrofoils. This advanced design is tailored for competitive racing and fully adheres to PWA rules.
The Skyblade's design objective is top speed and control during flight. It features radically high aspect ratios and notably wide mast pockets, both contributing to balance and comfort in flight mode. The sail also incorporates a lower foot, reduced vertical shaping, and more aggressive batten angles, which enhance aerodynamics and provide the rig with exceptional stability.
The wide mast pockets require firm tension to maintain efficient airflow. Drawing inspiration from the Racingblade fin slalom program, the Skyblade adopts its unique mast pocket construction. Skyblade mast pockets are constructed with multiple laminate & woven panels. A double-layer stretch-resistance zone is formed with 2-mil quad-axial x-ply (a lightweight material that resists folding memory) and IYU250 woven mast pocket material. This integrated 2-ply tendon extends from head to tack just behind the mast and helps the mast pocket maintain its optimal condition over time.
The downhaul roller is attached to three layers: the two mast pocket sides and the mast pane in between. This setup evenly distributes downhaul loading to all three layers, resulting in a firm, clean, smooth-rotating leading edge. Smooth cam rotation is crucial for maintaining focus during races and provides the balance needed for smooth gybes and transitions.
High trim tension and extreme conditions can take a toll on sail performance over time. To counteract this, the Skyblade is equipped with Metallic Cam Interfaces at all camber inducer contact points, preventing material degradation and ensuring long-lasting performance.
Additionally, all Skyblades are manufactured with Loftsails' signature focus on material durability. The central window, leech, and foot feature x-ply panels, while the bi-ply top panels offer exceptional catastrophic failure and UV resistance, ensuring sail longevity. -
Raceboardblade OD white
Größen 6.5 / 7.5 / 8.5
UVP zwischen 799,00€ und 879,00€
Blade Mast Pocket: Downhaul tension is equalized between the mast panel and the mast pocket resulting in a firm, easy-rotating leading edgeTrim Diamond: A reference marker for precision leach-release tunning
Exposed tack: Facilitating adjustable downhaul kits
Tack Strap With Eyelet: Strap tension independent from downhaul tension
The Raceboardblade OD integrates the extensive experience and development of the Loftsails raceboard team, delivering performance in light to medium wind conditions for both novice and experienced sailors in a competitive, cost-effective design.
Based on the Loftsails Raceboardblade ULW range, the Raceboardblade OD retains the key profile and design elements that made the original so successful on the racecourse. Available in 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 sizes, the Raceboardblade OD mirrors the ULW range with optimized vertical curves, horizontal shapes, and leech release for excellent upwind and downwind capabilities.
The main window and upper body have been modified to include monofilm panels. The profile is stabilized by a 3-cam and 5 fiberglass rod and tube battens setup, creating a super light frame that is particularly suited for lighter winds and offers excellent pumping response.
The OD mast pocket is constructed using different materials: the upper part is made of dacron, while the lower pocket is cut from SU250. It features the original Blade mast pocket design, which includes three layers (two pocket sides and an interior mast panel) all tensioned by the downhaul. This unique Loftsails design equalizes downhaul tension between the mast panel and mast pocket, resulting in a firm, easy-rotating leading edge
All sizes feature Loftsails’ signature trim sensitivity within their respective wind ranges, ensuring maximum performance and responsiveness.
While the "OD" in Raceboardblade OD stands for "One Design," this designation anticipates future possibilities if the line proves successful. Achieving One Design class status involves meeting specific requirements, which are currently not in place but may be pursued based on the product's reception and performance. -
Ich fange mal an.
2025 Loftsails Racingblade
Sizes:
5.2/ 5.8/ 6.6/ 7.4/ 8.2UVP zwischen 1.169,00€ - 1.429,00€.
What is new:
Visual facelift
3-cam setup
New batten layout
Batten #3 (above the boom) tube updated to 100%
Batten-to-rod ratios are redistributedThis updated design, with its revised batten layout, enhances the sail’s aerodynamic properties by reducing drag and boosting both acceleration and speed. Additionally, the reduction in the total cam count to three results in an overall weight reduction while maintaining the firm tension of the mast pocket and profile stability.
The battens have been fine-tuned with longer rod sections and by shifting tube sections further back, creating a shallower entry profile that further reduces drag. This gives another boost to acceleration and speed while facilitating smoother and quicker cam rotation.

Preis inklusive Versand innerhalb Deutschland 2.400,00€.

Evtl. mal versuchen nachzubohren. Bitte vorsichtig.
