Puck, Poland – September 29, 2026– A lighter breeze brought a complete change of racing on Day 2 of the iQFOiL U23 World Championships in Puck, with the fleet switching from Course Racing to Slalom and completing four races on the Bay of Puck.

In the Women’s fleet, the top three remains unchanged. Aimee Bright (NZL) continues to lead the championship, ahead of Maya Gysler (NOR) in second and Tuva Oppedal (NOR) in third, as the trio consolidated their positions at the front after two days of racing. One of the performances of the day came from Medea Falcioni (ITA). After a difficult opening day, the 15-year-old Italian stormed into the top ten with an impressive Slalom series. Falcioni took two race wins and never finished outside the top three today, making a major move up the overall standings.

In the Men’s fleet, Federico Alan Pilloni (ITA) remains firmly in control. The Italian followed his strong opening day by winning all four of his heats, maintaining his position at the top of the leaderboard. Making a strong challenge for the lead is home sailor Stanislaw Trepczynski (POL). Racing on home waters, the Polish athlete scored three bullets today to climb into second overall, putting himself firmly in contention after eight races. Leonardo Tomasini (ITA) remains third overall, holding the same position he occupied at the end of the opening day and giving Italy two sailors inside the provisional top three.

With two days of qualification completed, the Men’s fleet will now split into Gold and Silver fleets, raising the level of competition as the leading sailors meet head-to-head from tomorrow.

Racing continues Wednesday on the Bay of Puck as the battle for the iQFOiL U23 World Championship titles moves into its next phase.

Puck, Poland – September 30, 2026 – It was a true up-and-down day on the water at the iQFOiL U23 World Championships in Puck, with changing conditions keeping sailors and the Race Committee busy throughout Day 3. In the end, four Slalom races were completed for each fleet, adding another important chapter to the battle for the U23 world titles.

In the Women’s fleet, Aimee Bright (NZL) continues to set the pace. The New Zealander added four more race wins to her scorecard to retain the overall lead after three days of competition. Maya Gysler (NOR) remains close behind in second, while there was a change in third place as Stella Bilger (AUS) moved onto the provisional podium, replacing Tuva Oppedal (NOR) in the top three.

In the Men’s fleet, Federico Alan Pilloni (ITA) continues his impressive run at the top of the standings. His scorecard is now so strong that, with the discard coming into play, the Italian is currently discarding a first place, underlining the consistency of his performance across the opening three days.

Behind Pilloni, however, the fight is getting tighter. Manolo Modena (ITA) climbed into second overall after an excellent day that included two race wins, strengthening the Italian presence at the front of the fleet.

Just one point behind Modena, Duncan Monaghan (GBR) moves into third overall, keeping the pressure firmly on as the championship heads towards its decisive stages.

After three days of racing and a mix of Course Racing and Slalom, the competition continues tomorrow on the Bay of Puck – and from Thursday the action will also be broadcast live, giving fans around the world the chance to follow the battle for the iQFOiL U23 World Championship titles as it happens.

Four different winners shake up the Men’s fleet, while Aimee Bright takes three bullets on a perfect day of Course Racing on the Bay of Puck

Puck, Poland – October 1, 2026 – The Bay of Puck delivered ideal conditions on Day 4 of the iQFOiL U23 World Championships, with the wind settling in perfectly for a full day of Course Racing as the championship moves closer to the decisive Medal Series.

In the Men’s fleet, four races produced four different winners. Championship leader Federico Alan Pilloni (ITA) struck first, taking the opening race of the day. His exceptional scorecard may no longer be quite perfect, but the Italian remains firmly in control at the top of the overall standings.

The British pair of Duncan Monaghan (GBR) and Boris Shaw (GBR) each added a race win, with Monaghan continuing his strong championship in third overall. The final bullet of the day went to Côme Joly (FRA), who closed the Course Racing programme with a victory.

There was also a move back up the leaderboard for Leonardo Tomasini (ITA). After a solid and consistent day on the water, the Italian climbed back into second overall, restoring an Italian one-two at the top ahead of Monaghan in third.

In the Women’s fleet, the top five remains unchanged from yesterday, with Aimee Bright (NZL) continuing to dominate the championship. The Kiwi added three more race wins today, further strengthening her position at the top of the leaderboard with one final day remaining before the Medal Series.

Behind the leaders, Aleksandra Wasiewicz (POL) was one of the standout performers of the day. Racing on home waters, she scored a race win and a second place, a strong performance that propelled her back into the overall top ten at a crucial stage of the championship.

With four days of racing now complete, attention turns to Friday’s final push for qualification. By the end of tomorrow, the top ten Men and top ten Women will be locked in for the Medal Series, setting the stage for the final battle for the 2026 iQFOiL U23 World Championship titles.

Super-light Slalom delivers a dramatic Medal Series as Tomasini overturns Pilloni’s lead and Bright completes a dominant week on the Bay of Puck

Puck, Poland – October 3, 2026 – Aimee Bright (NZL) and Leonardo Tomasini (ITA) are the 2026 iQFOiL U23 World Champions after a dramatic final day on the Bay of Puck, where super-light winds turned the Medal Series into a demanding test of speed, timing and nerves.

After five days featuring everything from strong-wind Course Racing to Slalom, the championship concluded in extremely light conditions. Slalom was the format for the day, but the marginal and unstable breeze made racing anything but straightforward, with numerous attempts and re-runs required before the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Grand Finals could be completed.

In the Women’s Medal Series, one of the stories of the day was Sophia Meyer (GER). Meyer had only secured the final Medal Series spot on Friday, entering the day in tenth place, but made the most of the knockout format to charge all the way through the fleet and eventually finish the World Championship in an impressivefourth place. Her rise capped a remarkable turnaround after she had been outside the top ten only two days earlier.

At the front, the title fight came down to the two sailors who had earned direct passage to the Grand Final after qualification: Aimee Bright (NZL) and Maya Gysler (NOR). Bright had led the championship throughout the week, while Gysler had mounted an increasingly strong challenge over the closing days.

The Grand Final remained open until the very end. Gysler came agonisingly close to taking the title, but after underlaying the second mark she was forced into extra gybes, costing crucial distance in the super-light conditions. Bright seized her opportunity to complete an outstanding week in Puck and become the 2026 iQFOiL U23 Women’s World Champion, with Gysler taking silver.

The Men’s Medal Series brought a late twist to a championship that had been dominated for much of the week by Federico Alan Pilloni (ITA). Pilloni had completed the Qualification Series in first place, with compatriot Leonardo Tomasini (ITA) second, giving both Italians direct passage to the Grand Final.

But on the day that mattered most, Tomasini turned the tables. The Italian delivered in the decisive Slalom racing to snatch the World Championship title from his teammate, completing a strong week in which the pair had occupied the leading positions from the opening stages of the event.

Pilloni finishes the championship with the silver medal after an exceptional Qualification Series, while Stanisław Trepczyński (POL) gave the home crowd a result to celebrate by securing bronze on home waters. The Polish sailor had already produced one of the performances of the week on Friday, winning three races to secure his place in the Semi Final, and completed the championship delighted to stand on the World Championship podium in Puck.
