Text von N. Goyard
Generally, when you are with a small sail (such as 4,5) on a relatively big board, there is a disbalance which makes it hard to control. It would come with lot of movement from the board in the gust, and a pitch hard to control…
So today I went with the new Infinite 86 with the 4,5 to try that and see how it would feel… And the board is just amazing. The wind was east (25-30 knots) and gusty in Almanarre which is generally a bit tricky to manage… But the 86 (yes 86!!) is just so stable in the air that you just don’t think about it at all.
I never felt so safe on a board while going that fast… And also, the best part is the touchdowns… So far, with every board I tried, when you touch down, you have kind of an uncontrolled rebounce that can make you get out the water and crash. With the new 86, it just so smooth… It feels really linear.
The jibes are easier as well (can’t exactly explain how without describing too precisely the board) both in the curve and touchdowns.
The only downside of the new design is that it is a bit more unstable before getting up on the foil. Once you get the right technique, it takes off better than before, but it can feel a bit weird for the first few tries.
Anyway, the feeling in the air is just amazing ! I was smiling so much on the water today ahahah !
