Die Entscheidungsbeschreibung erwähnt gewisse Fakten, äußert sich klar hinsichtlich Verwendung: "found to have been using a sail ...".

P7 schreibt "and practically not even being used in Japan". Warum "practically"?

    Szenarien fernab vom heutigen Anlassfall:

    {2.13.4} NO RULES PRINCIPLE (SLALOM)

    (a) If indicated in the Sailing Instructions and / or Notice of Race then racing maybe conducted using the No Rules principle.

    (b) Under the No Rules Principle, all forms of Protest and Direct Refereeing are removed and sailors shall not be penalised for infringing another competitor whilst competing.

    (c) Competitors must start and finish as prescribed in the rulebook and the sailing instructions and must sail the course in compliance with the rule book, the sailing instructions and the course diagram (Rule 2.7).

    (d) Competitors attention is drawn to rules 1.1.3 “Safety”. Whilst competitors shall not be penalised for infringing other competitors whilst racing, rule 1.1.3 is still applicable to all aspects of PWA competition. Any competitor who breaches the fundamental principles of safety may still be penalised under Rule 1.1.3 and Rule 1.12.14 “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”

    (e) Competitors judged to have deliberately impeded a competitor through their own choice of actions or to have attempted to do so in a way that is avoidable and not as a direct result of a racing situation shall be penalised according to the list below. For clarity, offences under this rule shall include but not be limited to grabbing hold of another competitor or their equipment or pushing and / or pulling another competitor or their equipment whilst racing or immediately before or after a race or heat has finished.

    (f) Any competitor deemed to have acted in a dangerous manner by the Race Committee shall be subject to penalties according to the following list:

    i. First offence, €250 plus DSQ from the race.

ii. Second offence, €250 fine plus DSQ from the event.

    (g) Competitors are made aware that whilst no specific right of way rules are in effect under the no rules principal, when considering situations of dangerous sailing, a competitor coming from behind to overtake another competitor or competitors, shall be expected to give reasonable space and keep clear of a competitor they are overtaking and that if it is deemed that they have failed to do so and caused a collision, then they may be penalised under dangerous sailing rules. However, competitors ahead who are being overtaken by another competitor who alter their course in a way that causes a collision, may also be penalised under dangerous sailing rules.

    POINT-7

    5 Std.  ·

We worked hard with @johansoe37 and with a full team, to bring him at the first place of the PWA title tour. We managed this by working specifically on each aspect of the sail, to mature the full potential of our product, for the benefit of our riders and clients alike. Unfortunately, we have been disqualified due to one sail size which was not perfectly into specs and practically not even being used in Japan. Johan could have been the second youngest sailor to be World Champion, but this will be postponed for one year. In racing riders are tuning modifying foils, working on custom masts, battens, boards, and it is a fact that when you are on the top, especially with a young talent like Johan, all attentions from judges and other envy competitors are fairly on him to check all his details, as he has shown to be unstoppable. Johan had managed to be first in the ranking without doing all the events as he had to finish school, so either way it went, he did an amazing job. We will still proudly reward Johan as being the biggest talent in racing, for the hard work done. We will make sure he will be up there again next season with no mercy, and we are happy to have proven the outstanding performance of our F1sl. #24ready #born07

A statement has been made by Johan Soe on facebook:

I'm very thankful for all your supportive comments that I've read regarding the hard work and performance, that I've been putting in to show my talent on the PWA. As you have all read, I was ranking first for the title, but due to one of my sails, which the PWA judges decided that was not fitting the specs by some millimeters, I've been disqualified from the event in Japan. I need to stress that I never used this sail during the event in Japan. Unfortunately, as I did not do the full tour, I had no discards to keep the first place, and was disqualified for having exactly that sail.

This year, I was not expecting to be able to rank first on the tour, as I could not do all the events. I was busy with finishing school and had no time to train in the summer, as I had to sit for exams the days after important events, or just before. I had to skip the PWA in Gran Canaria due to the same reason. With one event less, half time not training, I was still super stoked to have a better level of a couple riders who had tried the same for over 10-15-20 years.

Generally, we riders are all working hard to bring our equipment to the max of its performance. I worked double harder than the others as I had a limited time, and I'm sure that this has been seen because being only 20, I was there fighting with the best, or better, being in front of them. When you are busy in so many details, working with a team for such important goals, the variables and details are a lot. Even if I appreciate the work done from the PWA in making sure that the rules are being followed, I'm not sure that the decision taken towards myself was correct, as I never used the sail in Japan.

Next year no room for other excuses.
